Ohhh how I love reading and these recommendations are not the standard list (aka life of pi etc etc). Saving the article and looking forward to reading them!! Can't decide where to start lol

So glad! It all depends what you’re in the mood for - some are lighter than others. Here if you want any help narrowing down!

I also loved reading Educated (a few years ago now)! And yes it took me a while to quit reading books I don't like but now I do it more often and it helps me to keep reading, as well as making sure I always have my next book ready to go.

Reading the Wedding People right now! I wasn’t sure at the beginning but love it!

The Four Winds — UGH — I know. It’s one of the most memorable books I’ve ever read. It guts me just thinking about it. Totally agree with these tips. Thanks for sharing!

Of course Sarah! Honestly it makes you feel so grateful to live in the time we do...despite all the insanity we face, at least it's not raining dirt :(

Ohh I added a couple of these to my TBR list! Another hack: read short books 😉 Unselected Journals of Emma Lion really helped up my book count this year 😏

Adding to list Rachel! Sometimes long books get really daunting and slow, short ones are a confidence booster.

This is genius. I love your advices. It is definitely manageable when you want something. When my twins start with day care (next sept) I'm gonna open this post again!! I can tell you titles of 2 of my favourite books, maybe it can tell you something about me: 1.Siddhartha, Hermann Hesse 2. The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini. What about you?

Great tips & ideas Sarah! I also got some new book recommendations from it. Thanks lovely 🥰

I’m definitely going to read this but first an appreciation moment for this photo and the beautiful collection of books. Also love Romantic Comedy.

Sarah @ Whatever She's Doing's avatar

Anjali thank you! Organizing my bookshelves is a distraction from the chores I actually should be doing. Romantic Comedy is not my usual genre but was such a pleasant read (and got me back into watching SNL).

Ok so many good books on here and many of the fiction ones I've read! I'll be checking out some of the ones from your list that I haven't yet. Some from my recent list that I enjoyed and maybe you will too are The Calamity Club, Homeseeking by Karissa Chen, The Midnight Library (needed to get into but then I liked it), and Lady Tremaine.

I keep hearing about Calamity Club, it’s on my list! I did like Midnight Library too.

I love this post and agree with it 100% (although my kid won’t let me read while he watches a movie, I have to watch with him). I read The Four Winds and The Worst Hard Time and was fascinated! Less has been on my TBR for awhile. So many great recs.

So here to nerd out over the Dust Bowl! Any favorites you have loved lately?

These are amazing tips! I love reading when your kids watch movies, I started doing that because I physically could not watch paw patrol for the hundredth time ha. But I’ve found I read so much more if I find pockets of time rather than a whole hour to sit and read. Xx
