Great list! There is one more thing I personally gladly spend money on: learning and personal growth (books, therapy, courses, coaching).

YES totally agree, absolutely worth the money to invest in yourself and your growth.

Thank you for validating my one coffee at home, one coffee out daily routine. And I will die on the hill of “same black beyond yoga sets”. They never tire.

Giving the Abbey Yung method a shot! Thanks for the suggestion

Loved reading this. I totally agree re-home, hair & Pilates vs flights, manis & cars. Slightly different views on fashion (it makes me feel good to be stylish but I look for second hand always) & education (but we live in London so I suspect quite different!) Look forward to reading more of you & hopefully you enjoy my writing too 💌

So appreciate this response! I want to spend more time looking for high-quality second-hand clothes (and homeware) - I think that’s the sweet spot!

I’d love to know your skincare routine as a beauty expert!! I love skincare, but specifically affordable skincare. That’s basically all I write about on my personal lifestyle blog. I’ve tried it all and the goal now is finding the affordable products that are actually effective. And bonus, if I can just go to target to buy it! Been loving Prequel & Remedy.

Blair we might need to do a sidebar about skincare, I could talk about this for hours! I need to check out Prequel & Remedy, have heard really good things. The affordable products I’m really liking right now are prescription tretinoin, Timeless Vitamin C, Naturium Azelaic Acid, CosRx Snail Mucin, RoC Retinol Correction Undereye Cream, Weleda Skin Food, and Eucerin Q10 Anti Wrinkle Night Cream (I asked a mom at my daughter’s school what she was doing for her amazing skin and it was this cream, which sold me).

I would love that! I love talking skincare too :) I like makeup too, but my goal with makeup all these years has been to get the skincare right, so I just needed a little bit of makeup just to simply wake my face up, not cover it. The no makeup makeup is my jam! I only “know things” because I’ve tried so many things, but I love Naturium products, & Timeless! I wrote a full post on my personal blog about Naturium haha, all my posts on http://therootedmomedit.com are about skincare/makeup. Might eventually copy/paste some from there onto my substack, but majority of those type of posts are on my website. The Eucerin Q10 sounds interesting! I love asking people what they use! That’s how I find out about most of my faves, too.

This all makes complete sense. I also will NEVER pay regularly for nails- and quite frankly, I don’t have the time to sit for an hour just staring at my hands 🙌

I had no idea Everlane was purchased by SHEIN until reading this post — tragic indeed. 😭

I looooved reading this! I’m with ya on the hair and coffee from coffee shops and we also drive a Hyundai Tucson! Umm and Everlane was bought by Shein? Am I reading that right?? Okay but can you make a list of best $30 skin care items? I have one or two that I love, but I’m still on the hunt for other good ones.

I love this and we may be soul sisters. I mean other than the Airbnb which I don’t have, I definitely agree on the rest!

I love your intentionality. I have a very similar list. We have some overlap (I came from luxury fashion)! I think just knowing what makes a difference is a powerful way to make sure that’s where your money goes. I world school with my kids right now and while it’s a hefty investment feels worth it. The things we don’t get to do/have fade into the background when we lean into what we do get. I don’t think you need to have it “all”, just what matters.
